My name is David Otey and I am the inventor of the Loadable Dumbbell Cushion (LDC).

Long story short, I've been a consultant for Men's Health Magazine and a personal trainer for 15 years. More importantly, I've been lifting weights since I was 13.

Growing up, building a jaw-dropping physique was always something I wanted to do. I was raised admiring old-school bodybuilders from Venice Beach, which meant moving iron to get weapons that would stop Arnold in his tracks (if I have to explain who Arnold is, we didn't live on the same planet).

With all these aspirations, I didn't grow up with a lot of money and started working as young as I could to earn a paycheck. I worked and worked and worked and saved my 8th grade graduation money to buy a Bench Press, a Preacher Curl, and a 300 lb. weight set to lift Eminem's Till I Collapse four nights a week.

For Christmas that year, I received a pair of Olympic weights, which was a game changer—or so I thought. I quickly learned that using Olympic weights is PAINFUL. I don’t mean uncomfortable, either. I mean a legitimate form of torture.

That was almost 20 years ago and until now there has never been a solution.
