HOW TO STAY HEALTHY DURING THE CHINESE NEW YEAR 2023

It’s the Chinese Lunar New Year where we celebrate the Year of the Water Rabbit. It starts from January 22 , 2023 and ends on February 9, 2024. Among its emblems, the zodiac sign Rabbit is a symbol of strength as it is also considered as king of beasts in China.

While this is the perfect time for festivities and gatherings together with your family and friends, make sure that your celebrations are held in a controlled environment especially since the COVID-19 virus is still around. Take this year as an opportunity to be like the zodiac sign Rabbit and maintain or better yet, improve your strength by staying healthy.

How to stay healthy and be like the zodiac sign Rabbit:

Chinese New Year 2022 activities

Eat in moderation

It is inevitable that a Chinese banquet is really full of temptations especially with the pineapple tarts and prawn rolls. You are not restricted from eating these foods but be conscious of the amount or serving that you consume. You don’t want to pile your plate with food that exceeds your usual eating consumption.

The act of eating consciously does not end when the festivities are over. This should be a daily practice even during normal days. Make sure to have a well-balanced diet by eating vegetables, fruits, and other nutritious foods. Remember, it is okay to indulge a little as long as you stay conscious.

Take your daily dose of Vitamin C

Foods that are rich in Vitamin C will help build your immunity such as the famous Mandarin Oranges. Aside from foods, you may also take a supplement daily that also provides Vitamin C.

There are also a lot of other benefits you can get aside from immunity such as lowering the risk of heart disease, preventing iron deficiency, reducing the risk of chronic disease, and many others. Taking your daily dose of Vitamin C should not be neglected especially with COVID-19 around, it is important to boost one’s immune system to lessen the risk and potential infection of the virus.

Exercise regularly

No matter how busy you are, make sure to find time to workout even at least 30 minutes a day. A simple walk is already considered a cardio exercise and is good for the heart. You may also consider taking the stairs rather than the elevator if you’re just going to and from 2 or 3 floors away.

However, if there’s really a time of your day where you can squeeze in a quick workout, that is so much better. If you cannot hit the gym, you may still do home workouts and get fitness equipment as well to make a small home gym.

The best fitness equipment at home are those that are accessible and user-friendly such as treadmill, stationary exercise bike, elliptical trainer, and dumbbells & racks. But if you want to level up your home gym, rowing machine, spinning bike, and multi-station are the highly-recommended equipment.

Final Words

These tips should be practiced not just during the Chinese New Year but all-year round. It is really important to prioritize your health and keep yourself safe from hazards because it’s so hard to catch illnesses nowadays. That’s why staying healthy is the greatest gift that you can give to yourself and to your loved ones as well, especially those who depend entirely on you.

Starting this Year of the Water Rabbit, make it your resolution to stay healthy and be strong like the zodiac sign Rabbit, and once you get the appropriate strength, keep it and maintain it.
